Still a Dead Game #SadPanda
I'm still working. I had to take a break for a while, but I returned my full attention to this project a little over a month ago. I changed all the backgrounds to a more cartoonish look that goes along with the character designs. Right now I'm painting all the textures of the characters by hand. I posted a video on Discord in case you want to check it out. There are still several steps to be taken so I can't talk about deadlines, but I keep working and at some point, it will be ready.
Well, try NOT to do to much; Otherwise you could get Burned out or just give up like So many other game developers over the years
Simple may not be the best, but it can get the Job done; you can always tweek things out later with an update here or there

It's not dead. I had some difficulties during development, first financially, then reconciling this project with other jobs I had to take on to pay the bills.
I recently decided to revise the entire project to facilitate future development, fixing bugs and adding mechanics. Due to a rough month, I haven't been able to rebuild the game yet, but I guarantee the wait will be worth it, I won't need to take so long for future updates.
i see u do a lots of improvement in the last update i restart the full game again and was really surprised to see so many new things....awesome and amazing game congratz and keep the good work up please
Thanks! There are still a lot of improvements to come, scenery clothes and I'm working on a more paint-like look for the entire game. Keep an eye.
i will for sure keep an eye on your work...and waitinf for the new update...if i can tell u....the only thing that is really hard to understand is...when u beginn to have the possibility to change beetwen he and nicole...is not so easy to understand if u have to use one or the other and u lost days only trying to find out what to do....(i see the think possibility but still not so clear to understand)
I confess that I hadn't thought of that. You're right, I should have put a clear thought like "Now I just have to wait, it's up to Brendon to act right now" or something like that.
The truth is that I only put Brendon's conditions for the final scene in this update because I was afraid that everyone would finish Nicole's chapter ignoring Brendon's anime quest. When I add the next chapter it won't be necessary to go back to Brendon to finish Nicole's chapter.
I believe that until the next chapter I have already thought of a way to inform the player that he is leaving content behind. I fear that everyone finishes the game too quickly and leaves thinking that the game has little content.
1.the game is not short or easy to do it..if u dont do the right movement u cant go ahead so u have obligatory to try to do a lot of things before u can say what is right to do now....like if u dont get caught spying on nicole shower u will never be able to speak with her (i hope u understand what i mean...) 2. maybe how u say put an advise like now u can wait or something like this would help a lot....3. maybe add a menu where u can see how u are going with quest and the girls affect....4.put an advice that there is only 1 scene for penny sex im sure people will try to fuck er a lots of time without having new scene.i was able to take jane pantie during the scene with jane and the father and when nicole told me if i give her a pantie i could see she take a shower but seems that i cant give her the red jane pantie i do something wrong or u have to introduce this scene??again...AWESOME and AMAZING game...go ahead with your mentality this game is really good...congratz
Thanks for the very good ideas, some had even crossed my mind, but I couldn't do it yet. In the case of Penny, I intend to put several different scenes and change according to the relationship with her, I haven't had time to do that yet.
As for Jane's panties, having taken them doesn't mean you kept them. In the scene where Brendon apologizes to Jane, if she asks him to throw away her panties, Brendon misses them. If she doesn't even talk about the panties, it's because Brendon never took the panties with him. This path is an easter egg, so it's supposed to be secret. But I owe you a way to let the player know if he has the panties or not.
These solutions or equivalents will come in the next updates, you can be sure. 😉
hey MaliXe im trying to find the folder with the game save files so i can bring them to the next version. But i cant find them. Any idea where those save files may be located in your game? (Im on Mac)
Hello! On Mac, the save folder is "~/Library/Application Support/MaliXe Games/Steps 4 Happiness/".
But I've changed so much in this update that it's worth starting from the beginning. I will do my best to make sure this problem never occurs again.
At the moment I only posted the Windows version, the Mac and Linux version didn't fit in Ichi.io. I will look for the best option to leave the external download link and I will make these versions available soon. 😉
This is the best! Facical expressions in this game is jus hilarious. And the plot is pretty dynamic and not boring. And this "not photo realistic? "or "cartoony?" art style is amazing.Why this gem have so litle patrons. I'm totally broke bu you got my 1buks subscription and i will buy every update.
Thank you very much. I will be publishing a test version for supporters in the next few days and the next update with many improvements and the continuation of the story will probably come out next week. I hope to attract more supporters after that, this will allow me to speed up development for upcoming updates.

I found the characters faces extremely creepy and that was where I became so unnerved that turning it off and deleting it was my first reaction. You may have put a lot of work into it but the uncanny valley made me too uncomfortable to get very far at all. Sorry because I can tell you put a lot of effort into this

Pretty good game so far. Everything seems to work the way it should, but it does have a number of graphical bugs, like animations suddenly restarting themselves. The animation is fair, I feel like it's better than I could ever do (I've done SFM, it's *hard*), but often times it looks really stiff or there's unnatural movements, but overall it's good enough. The lighting level could be a touch higher throughout, most of it looks pretty dark IMHO, but that's just a nitpick. Sometimes, I don't know if it's the animations, camera angles, lighting, or models (or all of the above), but I feel the characters' faces get really creepy looking on some scenes, but in general it's a good cartoony style and it seems to only happen occasionally. Overall, it's a really promising start and I like it.
Thanks! The bugs are a surprise to me, but I've already modified my code in a way that I think will fix it. I created my shaders to have this aspect of illustrations, but I know that lighting is a problem. This week I managed to fix the shadows. I also created a tool to facilitate the adjustment of the lighting, this will improve the look. Over time I will improve the bad animations and everything that deserves to be improved, this project still has a lot to grow and I am very willing to make it happen.
not a bad little game, an option to get with Nicolle would be good too, like give the game a separate path for different endings maybe?
I thought of two endings for now. I can't say what happens to not spoil it, but Nicole will have a lot of fun.

Wow, how many bugs! I need to fix this. Are you playing on Windows, Mac, or Linux? Try to lower the resolution and animations will get better. I hope the Italian translation doesn't have too many errors. Hehehe
